Aree Thai Vancouver

“Aree Thai Vancouver is for sure the best Thai restaurant in the Vancouver/Burnaby area. The pad Thai here is the best compared to almost all pad Thai places in the lower mainland. The price and portions are great. Downtown Thai charges high price with little portion, flavorful though. Popular places like Thai House, Green Basil and the other popular places have nice location but horrible flavors. I gotta say that I’ve been to about 20+ Thai restaurants in Canada and USA and this place would be considered to 3 on my list for Thai food.” – Michael Dinh

“At Aree Thai Vancouver, the food tastes amazing, the waitress is very swee, friendly and remembers what I like, and I get free ice cream at the end of every meal. I LOVE this place. P.s: get the coconut rice and the Thai tea ice cream at the end!” – Sofía Regalado

“My friend took us here one time and ever since, we kept going back. The Food at Aree Thai Vancouver is great! The Thai Iced Tea is to die for! and the desert ice creams is something to look forward to. The location is not the place that you would expect such a great place to eat, but it is where it is. Aree is the name of the owner and that is why it is named so. Definitely a must go!” – Konea2178

Bangkok City Cafe Kitsilano Thai Food

Kitsilano Thai Food

I’d gone to Bangkok City Cafe a couple of days ago, but thinking of the tom yum soup makes my mouth water even now!

It’s a tiny place on 4th, close to UBC, cozy and has great food and very friendly service!

Between my friend and I, we had Tom Yum Kai soup, chicken satay, and pad see-lw with beef, on the recommendation of the server (also the owner, I believe).
The soup was really good – tangy, a little sour, spicy, and had a very freshly-made kind of a feel to it. I might (might, because it faces strong competition from the other dishes!) say that it was the best part of our meal. The satay was delicious as well, but I can down a dozen in one go, so a plate with only 4 small skewers is not enough. Finally, the flat noodle dish was a good recommendation, with crunchy broccoli, that we both really liked – their food tastes really fresh and well made.

And the cherry on the top is their amazingly friendly service; the owner kept coming by our table, to chat and joke with us. At the end, when he found out that we are UBC students, he gave us a “first-timers” discount – it was such a super nice thing to do!

Best Thai Food Commercial Drive

We loved the mango salad. It was so delicious that we polished off the entire plate. We also had pad Thai, tasted fantastic and jungle curry. Our spicy level were perfectly served! Yum!

Little place, easy to miss, but worth the hunt. Owner is from Northern thailand, knows her stuff, easy to tell with the tastes. Service is friendly and fast, with sometimes little freebies if you come early enough for lunch. I think it does deliveries too for the dinner hour…hmmm

Our in laws recommended this place as their favourite Thai on the drive. We were impressed with the food and service. The atmosphere is low key and nice. I love the golden Buddha carving. The green curry and pad Thai are our usual order to test a new place and they were delicious. The spring rolls were really nice too. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and had left overs for lunch the next day. The prices are reasonable, although you pay extra for the rice. Next time we would not get rice and just use the noodles to absorb the curry. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can drink beforehand or after. Thee are lots of places on the drive serving happy hour now.

“I just ordered some of my most favorite dishes from this place for the first time. I used to work at a Thai restaurant where the chefs were actually from Thailand (and I had to learn over 100 items in Thia), and this place is just as good if not better! Real, authentic food, you can tell everything is really fresh, and when I asked for heat levels they actually didn’t just give me ‘white person hot’. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and order from them again!” – LH1 said:   January 23, 2014 8:59 pm PST

Tried their red curry and pad Thai. They were both delicious!! Definitely recommend this place. The one thing that bothered me was how loud the kitchen was. You can hear all the pots and pans while they cook. While we were eating, I noticed there were more delivery and pick up orders than people who actually sat there and ate…. I’ll probably do the same next time.

Decided to try this place today for some thai take out. All of my dishes came hot and were full of flavor. I ordered the tom kah chicken soup, beef basil spicy noodles, cripsy wontons, and chicken pineapple fried rice. Delivery was fast (about 35 mins) from time of order to an area outside the normal 5 km radius. Will be back! Yummy!!
